Why bother with a QR Code?

QR codes have been used for more than 15 years in Japan but have really taken off recently due to the increasingly ubiquitous nature of smartphones. Such codes can be read to quickly direct "visitors" or "viewers" to web based resources. Examples of their use include - displaying supplementary text, viewing contact information, connecting to a wireless network, or opening a web page in the phone's browser.
