eLearning in Action was established 5 years ago to provide a forum for sharing educational practices and experiences in the design, development and implementation of the IT and Business blended-learning curricula at the HCT. In subsequent years, the conference grew to include other academic departments and curricula.

eLearning in Action is a professional development event rather than an academic conference and aims to:

• inspire and motivate teachers to use technology to increase learning
• improve the use of technology for teaching and learning
• share, encourage and promote the development of innovative and effective elearning solutions at HCT
• create and engage a network of teachers and elearning practitioners actively involved in the application and implementation of learning and teaching technologies in higher education
• support and promote the development of quality online learning resources
• create awareness of new, innovative and emerging technologies for learning and teaching
• create an understanding of elearning issues affecting the implementation of effective elearning in the middle eastern context
